My boy Hide has returned from Tokyo after his extended hiatus. I linked up with him the other day and went to check out some burger spots. We didn't know where to go this time, so we just randomly picked a spot we googled. Our search result brought up Blue 9 Burger.. It had good reviews, although it was just a regular burger joint....I couldn't taste anything special about their burger. Then we went to have some Paul's burger right after we finished eating an unsatisfying Blue 9 burger. That too was a mistake!! We were forgetting how big burgers are at Paul's.... The burger tasted good, but it was too much burger for one night.... I will go back there with an empty stomach next time.

Anyway, I like the camouflage they used for the one below, it reminds me of T-Pattern camouflage and Dazzle camouflage used for ships.
My friend TomLowe sent me an email of his latest piece. I wasn't sure if it's a painting or a collage in the begging but it's neither-it's a color pencil drawing! I was just amazed at all the details he put in the piece. I find more and more stuff in the drawing the more I look. I can't wait to see more of his work.
First 7 Oshkosh's M-ATV (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected - armored fighting vehicle) have arrived in Afghanistan this week. Since the current MRAP is not working so well in Afghanistan, they needed to replace the new one that worked well in rough georaphic circumstance in Afghanistan. However Oshkosh got a nice deal and is getting busier. The initial order provided for 2,244 M-ATVs, and the Defense Department quickly raised their orders for the new trucks. All told, the manufacturer has received orders for 4,296 M-ATVs, plus spare parts and maintenance worth a whopping $2.3 billion.They are supposed to be delivering up to 1,000 vehicles a month by the end of the year. I like how BAE's M-ATV looks better.
The Jive Turkey restaurant in my neighborhood has been doing Jerk Chicken as their Saturday special since the beginning of summer. They have a grill set on the sidewalk where they cook the spicy jerk chicken like no ones business. It comes with a small festival as well. I am feeling that they will stop doing this for the year since it's getting cold outside. Yup, winter is right ahead of us....
The red parade in Tiananmen Square to mark the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. At the 50th anniversary a decade ago, 24,000 soldiers took part in the celebrations. This time, only 8,000 marched past. The emphasis has shifted from manpower to technology. Some 52 weapons systems, including unmanned aircraft, tanks and missiles were on display, most of which had never been seen before. Then came a flypast of 150 military planes and helicopters. The modest display was perhaps an indication that China still lags behind the West in home-grown aircraft technology. Locals in Beijing were told to stay at home - this celebration of the founding of the People's Republic, the police said, should be enjoyed on television... it's lamed...
They used string to create lines that will help make sure that the troop formations are uniform for the parade. The five lines are: head, chest, gun, hand, and foot. And I have noticed that the troops are all pretty much same heights in the parade as well.. I guess that's the way to go for the Red nation...
