DC Shoesの写真を撮っているMike Blabacのスニーカー＆写真集リリースパーティーに珍入と 言いたいところですが着陸予定時刻を過ぎてしまい終わる寸前で中に入れず。。。でも Ida から Tシャツもらっちゃってラッキー♪ 写真集のほうも気になります。せっかくDumboにきたので Grimaldi's のピザを川岸で食す。ローストペッパー＆バジルのトッピングが美味しかった♪
I went to check out Mike Blabac, a DC Shoes photographer's book opening. But, I couldn't get inside cause I got there little too late and they were about to shut the party down, womp, womp, womp... But Ida hooked me up with a tee〜♪ I want to check out his book... He has a lot of kool skate photos! Being that I was already in Dumbo, I went to get a pie at Grimaldi's Pizza and ate it by the water front. The roast pepper & Basil topping is really tasty〜♪
I finally took the Atlantic ave. tunnel tour♪ The tunnel is located right under Atlantic Ave. between Court and Hicks St. It's the worlds oldest subway tunnel. It was built within seven months in 1844 by the Long Island Rail Road to relieve congestion in downtown Brooklyn. It was closed in 1859 mainly due to political reasons, and it was sealed up in 1861. Bob Diamond found the tunnel in 1981 after several years of research. The only visitors before him apparently were electricians, who in the early 1930s went in to investigate rumors that Germans were mixing mustard gas in the tunnel. The tour led by Bob is filled with interesting stories. It's really kool to make your way down into the tunnel through a man hole in the middle of the Atlantic Ave and Court St. intersection. It's just crazy to see the huge empty space right under Atlantic Ave and realizing no one knew of it's existence for long time. It's possible that a steam locomotive from the 1830's is hidden behind a bulkhead wall at its west end. I want to find out badly!!!
先週ログ書くの忘れてたんで今更なんですが、前から観たかったFemi Kuti & The Positive Forceを 観にProspect Parkへ飛来♪ ライブすごい良かったです！友達家族と合流してチビ達と一緒に ピースに満喫♪ やっぱ野外ライブ最高〜♪ MJが亡くなられた日だったのでショーの後MJの I'll Be Thereを会場大合唱でR.I.P。
This is kind of a late post, but I went to check out Femi Kuti & Positive Force at Prospect Park last week. I linked up with the Davis family & friends and enjoyed the show with my nephew and niece♪ It was an amazing show! I always love the shows at Prospect Park. It feels so great to be in nature and enjoy music. All the people sang "I'll Be There" to pay tribute to the memory of Michael Jackson. R.I.P
Last friday, Katsu returned to NYC. I linked up with him after work, went to lunch and chilled at Darren's crib until it stopped raining. Then we headed to Dem jenkins' BBQ at the park by the river. After the rain really strange looking clouds appeared in the sky. I felt like everybody on the street noticed and was taking photos with their cell phones. So I took some shots from the cab. The weather's getting a little weird lately...
On Sunday I went to Loyd Bennett Field all the way deep into Flatbush ave to check out the Brooklyn Music Festival. I thought I was running late but the event started a few hours late... The weather was crazy, raining on and off all day, but my poncho came in really handy♪ Anyway many reggae artists showed up: Mavado, Beenie Man, Serani, Elephant Man, Bounty Killer, Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Doug E Fresh, Frankie Paul, Ding Dong, etc... I really liked Capleton's performance. Then all of sudden crowds started running because of a gunshot?, however the concert kept going. Well it was a long day but I definitely enjoyed it with jerk chicken〜♪
今年も切符売り切れで断念寸前、タクヤ君に入れてもらっちゃいました♪ まずはいろんなショートフィルム。。。 う〜〜〜ん。。。で最後のショートフィルム Made In Queensはおもろかったです♪ そして観たかった一本 Where Are You Go〜♪ 一時間だと短すぎますね４ヶ月の旅は。。。でもこんな旅したくなってきてウズウズ ムズムズしながら橋渡って家路に着く。。。 ビゴップ タクヤ君♪
I thought I was not gonna be able to make the BFF film screening this year again, because tickets were sold out... But Takuya hooked me up with a ticket〜♪ It started with some short films which was kinda whatever... except the one "Made In Queens"♪ It was interesting. And the main film for the night, "Where Are You Go"〜♪ was really kool. But I felt like they cut down too many parts in order to make it be 60 mins... However it made me wanna take a fun trip like that. Big Up Takuya♪
この間 Hip Hop Legends 2 とかいうライブをチェきりにB.B.Kingへ。予想はしていたもののそれ以上に 要領悪く入るのに可成り時間かかる。。。ようやく入るといきなり Lord Finesseで自分かなり揚がる〜♪ そしてそのままShow Biz & AG, Smif-n-Wessun, Black Moon, KRS One, MC Lyte, Naughty By Nature, Das Efx, Nice & Smooth, Joe Ski Love, Reakwon & Inspecta Deck などがマイク握っていました♪ ステージの 上も下も裏もその他大勢のアーティスト方勢揃い。 Black Moon揃ってるの久々でBootcamp組は相変わらず カッチョよく、KRS One & Buckshotのフリースタイルもヤバし。GregかなりハッスルでNice & Smooth も いけてました♪ そしてReakown登場かっチョよかった〜♪ Lord Finesse, Show Biz & AGライブ観たこと 無かったのでかなりヒット！なんかまとめて色々みれちゃってかなり満喫♪ youtubeでいくつかみつけたのでチェケラッチョ♪
I went to check out Hip Hop Legends 2 at B.B.King the other night. It was way more disorganized than I was expected and had long wait to get in.... As soon as I walked in I saw Lord Finesse was on the mic and got me super hyped already♪ then the show continued with Show Biz & AG, Smiff-n-Wessun, Black Moon, KRS One, MC Lyte, Naughty By Nature, Das Efx, Nice & Smooth, Joe Ski Love, Reakown & Inspecta Deck〜♪ Also there were many many artists appeared on the stage and off stage. I am so glad to saw Lord Finesse, Show Biz & AG show that I have never seen before. It was good to see Buckshot and 5ft together♪ Bootcamp was dope as usual and KRS One and Buckshot's freestyle was really fresh. Greg Nice Rocked the stage with his ol'skool flavor as usual. And Reakown finished up the concert with his classics♪ Hella Tight! Big Thanks to Greg〜♪
West Villageにある小汚いバーなんですがバーガーがデラ美味いので有名な Corner Bistro♪ 今週勢い余って２度も行っちゃいました。。ベーコンはパリパリ、バーガーは肉屋さんの みたいでマジ美味いっす♪ でも今週ちょっと肉食べ過ぎたかも。。。
Corner Bistro is a shit hole looking bar in the West Village that has one of the best burgers in the city♪ I had it twice already this week ... Their burger is the real deal and the bacon is nice and crispy♪ Soo Good!! I think I had enough burgers for this week... lol
